Which Candle Do I Choose? Natural, Lavender and Herbal Candles are all made from un- bleached cotton muslin and food grade wax. The food grade wax burns at a hotter temperature than plain paraffin candles, making them more efficient and less likely to drip. (See “Why We Don’t Use Plain Paraffin.” information sheet for the reasons that we do not use the lowest quality wax on the market.) The food grade wax used on our candles is derived from a petroleum base, however, in order to qualify as a food grade wax, the wax must be refined many times over to remove the harmful impurities that are found in the cheap paraffin waxes. This refining makes it safe enough that the FDA allows it to be used on foods like apples and cheeses. Lavender Candles are handmade with 100% unbleached cotton muslin, food-grade wax, and a therapeutic grade of Lavender essential oil, grown in Provence, France distributed by Dreaming Earth Botanicals. Herbal Candles are made with 100% unbleached cotton muslin and food-grade wax, then rolled in dried herbs of Marjoram, Eucalyptus, Tee Tree, Peppermint, and Lavender. | Which Candle Do I Choose? Soywax Candles are also made from the unbleached cotton muslin and from
a soy-based wax. This candle is made from a vegetable wax, which means
it is a natural wax, and it burns cleaner. This wax should produce no
soot. The burning time of the Soywax candle is similar to that of the
natural candle, however this candle burns hotter than the natural
candles. Some people are uncomfortable with a hotter burning candle,
but others know the benefits and feel the extra heat will improve the
candling process. Make certain the person being candled doesn’t feel
any pain during the candling process, because that is not normal. A
person using this candle should be very aware and be an experienced
candler, so they will know the difference in the extra heat from the
soywax and when something has gone wrong. Natural Beeswax and Herbal Beeswax Candles are also made from the
unbleached cotton muslin with Beeswax. Beeswax is known for being a
natural wax. It burns cleaner and slower than the other waxes. Most
people are familiar with the beeswax candles, because they have been on

unbleached cotton muslin and beeswax, then rolled in dried herbs of
Marjoram, Eucalyptus, Tee Tree, Peppermint, and Lavender. Hemp Cloth Candles are made from hemp cloth with a beeswax, hemp seed oil, and soy wax mixture. This mixture creates a longer burning candle. All are natural products that burn cleaner and longer than petroleum-based waxes. Hemp fabric is stronger and has natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. The hemp cloth is famous for being an environmentally friendly crop. Cotton requires lots of fertilizer, pesticides, and damages the soil. Cotton also only grows in moderate climates and requires more water than hemp. Hemp can be grown in all 50 states, requires only a moderate amount of water, no pesticides, no herbicides, only moderate amounts of fertilizer, and is frost tolerant.
